The 12th annual ARTrageous was, yet again, a great success with a larger venue, numerous art stations, Dean Cote's ever-popular photo studio and award-winning Cookoothama wine. Funk and soul beats were provided by Vancouver's Soulstream, with DJ Timothy Wisdom the Turntable Wizard spinning between sets.

The self portrait theme gave all 12 artists a chance to challenge their creative talent and boundaries. Submissions included Michelle Yamamoto's nude paintings as a tribute to Auguste Rodin; Kate Dutton's multi-layered self created with acrylic, fabric, wood and an old map; Alexei Villaseca's Mayan portrait; and Bruce Rowles' bizarre photographic art to name a few.

“I have been involved in Artrageous for the past 6 years now and it has really grown into something special,” Chili Thom said. “The variety of all the art forms guarantees a great time for all and offers bucket loads of both eye and ear candy. If it weren’t for ARTrageous, I wouldn't be as far along in my career as I am now!"

The 11th Annual ARTrageous took place this fall at Dusty's Bar & Grill - and was considered "a complete success!"

Featuring a showcase of regional artists and artisans, musicians and performers. Presented in partnership with Cornucopia 2006 - Whistler's 10th Annual Wine & Food Festival - ARTrageous provided an opportunity for local artists from the Sea-to-Sky Corridor to feature their work in an evening celebrating the arts.

Visitors to Millennium Place over the 2006 holidays enjoyed an amazing display of holiday cheer inside Whistler's community theatre and arts centre. The decorations lent the building a sophisticated air, while hinting at the past. Antique props were incorporated into the design to appeal to memory of holidays past. A nutcracker as tall a grown man guarded the passageway upstairs, while gifts overflowed from an antique 4 seater sleigh. LPs played on the big band phonograph in the entrance foyer and guests could enjoy a comfortable living room atmosphere. Upstairs, every child's dream was awaiting - a bright red wagon stuffed full of toys sat under the majestic twelve foot Christmas tree.
